je voudrais sous pommes de terres, síl vous plais
Friday, October 14, 2005having finished my first week at the bilingual school, i´ve been
evaluating whether it would work in england; and i´ve come to a
decision...
...no, it wouldn´t.
we´re so lazy in england when it comes to learning languages, and of
all the ones we learn at school, it´s french. great.
nothing against french, of course, but it´s even lower in the top 20
world languages chart than britain is at eurovision (click for proof). surely, in
a capitalist world, the point of speaking another language is so you
can sell your potatoes to as many people as possible; and frankly,
there are plenty more people who speak something except french. it
just seems strange to me.
nevertheless, i see that the first british bilingual school is opening
in battersea next year (link), so i´ll definately be interested to see
how successful it is. oh, and three guesses as to what the other
language is?
yep, french.

Really, you bring shame upon the other European Studies students of this world.
(That would be the four of us, then).

You, Matt, are a blogging machine!
And since when did the French language have an accented i?!
::
it´s the keyboards fault. there is an accent key on the keyboard. when i press it, if the next letter i press (if it is possible to have an accent) will indeed be given an accent.
it is in the same place the apostrophe key is on a ´normal´keyboard
my apologies
