why are you in ipswich?

the killer on the loose in ipswich is big news.
but why does the bbc (and everyone else) feel they have to send their head honcho to broadcast live from ipswich? huw edwards can read a script just as well in ipswich as he can in london.
plus, the beeb have tonnes of journalists there already who could surely do what huw does. it just looks stupid when he passes over 'live for an update' to someone else who is probably not even a mile from where he's stood.
what i think is worse is that when the bbc (and everyone else) think the story is not as important, they all run back to london. the manhunt they reported on earlier this week from ipswich is still going on, so why isn't it as important? plus, these hookers have been disappearing for five weeks now, and huw edwards didn't trot off to suffolk then did he?
it's all about making news look more important than it is or...what's that other word...oh yeh, hype.
