whatever next...

we get a lot of junk through the post for the previous tenants and although we throw a lot of it away, this one caught my eye.

fingering through the dreamdirect catalogue, i discovered the lite pad, an invention that provides sunlight-strength light in your own home. used to 'create the closest thing to natural light' (beaten only of course by any window), the lite pad comes with 'six soothing summer sounds' to relax to. bringing summer indoors has never been easier, although you are essentially sat in front of a lamp, pretending to be outside.

a sunlight-strength-relaxing-sounding lamp. i thought i'd seen it all. that was until i turned the page to discover...a voice recording tape measure.

whatever next...

probably the best snack ever

Thursday, February 10, 2005
remember flipz? a healthy mix of salted pretzels covered in chocolate, in a strange mix of satisfaction that only the nineties could provide. apparently they still sell them in america but not in the uk, which is a shame, because i used to eat quite a lot of them.

undeterred i attempted to make my own - a painstaking operation that took about 45 minutes start to finish and made roughly 30. unfortunately, becuase they're painfully more-ish, this was nowhere near enough. despite the end result being incredibly satisfying, i think it may be less time consuming to just fly to america next time.

kilroy, you're talking crap

Thursday, February 03, 2005
i enjoyed seeing kilroy launch his political party yesterday. not only because it's the most stupid, easily forgettable, completely un-catchy name (obviously aiming for the crucial latin-speaking vote) but because just like his quest to 'wreck' europe (because ukip are really making a mess of that eu aren't they) he's going to end up looking like a complete dick - and i can't wait.

he says he's standing for the truth. except the truth is, he doesn't really have that many policies. it's ok though because he's got a list of everyone else's, which he's going to read out. although you can't really oppose something without offering better alternatives. after all, anyone can poke fun.

watched the bbc3 documentary on him - for someone so adamently against europe, he seemed to enjoy holidaying in his spanish villa, drinking his italian coffee in paris and shopping at markets in germany a little too much for my liking...
